Geely Automobile Holdings' vehicle deliveries edged up 2 percent year on year to 93,420 vehicles in January and February on strong demand for the improved Kingkong and Vision compact sedans.

In the first two months, Kingkong sales surged 35 percent from a year earlier to 15,565 vehicles, while Vision deliveries increased 22 percent to 23,025.

Sales of the New Emgrand, Geely's top-selling model, rose 2 percent to 36,748.

Deliveries of the GC9 -- the company's first midsize sedan, which went on sale last April -- totaled 8,616.

But Geely continued to struggle in China's booming market for crossovers. Combined sales of the company's three crossovers -- the GX7, GX9 and SX7 -- tumbled 36 percent to 7,735.

To revive crossover sales, Geely said it will launch an improved model this month, without disclosing details about the vehicle.

Geely Auto is the Hong Kong-listed subsidiary of Zhejiang Geely Holding Group Co. Geely Group, headquartered in the east China city of Hangzhou, also owns Volvo Car Corp.
