When the economy slides, employees often pay the price, says Crain's Detroit Business. So, the metro Detroit publication adjusted its biennial "Cool Places to Work" program to recognize 35 local companies that have done their best to keep it cool despite tough times.
Out of 191 nominations, MSI won a position in the top 35 companies. In addition, Crain's invited honorees to produce a short video, and MSI made the top five. View the video >
As seen in the video, MSI defines "cool" as remaining "cool under pressure" during a rough economy by reacting to the circumstances and protecting its most important assets, its employees. In addition, MSI earned "cool points" because employees can work with the industries that interest them, and senior management took salary and bonus cuts to protect employee compensation.
The 35 cool companies will be honored December 2 at Emagine Theater and Lucky Strike in Novi.
