Market Strategies International announced today that Larry A. Walker, Ph.D., joined the research consultancy as its Chief People Officer. Walker is responsible for all aspects of human resources including strategy, recruitment and retention, and learning and development. He reports to Rob Stone, Ph.D., Chief Executive Officer.
Walker joins Market Strategies from Walmart, Inc., where he most recently served as Senior Director of Strategy, Execution and Planning for Sam’s Club. Walker joined Walmart in 2007 and held various positions of increasing responsibility including Director of HR Strategy for Wal-Mart Stores US and Director of Learning and Development for Wal-Mart Stores US, Southeast Division.
His experience spans nearly 25 years and includes positions with Compassion International, the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Department of Defense Educational Activity.
Walker earned a doctorate in education-training and business performance improvement from Capella University in Minneapolis, MN; a master’s degree in education-educational administration/curriculum and instruction from Azusa Pacific University in Azusa, CA; and a bachelor’s degree in education-English and mathematics from Northern Michigan University in Marquette, MI.
